HEAD OF A BODHISATTVA

Terracotta
Gandhara Kushan, 4/5th century

Head of a male figure, probably a Bodhisattva, sculpted in terracotta, with remains of white slip. The facial features show a strong Greco-roman influence. The jeweled turban is an Indian (Kushan) feature.
