A stoneware ewer with a short spout on the shoulder, handle and two suspension lugs, glazed with a brown lead-free glaze with molded applied relief plant decoration splashed with a darker glaze. These ewers in utilitarian shapes were produced in the Tongguan kilns near Changsha, and were widely exported during the Tang period.
